On Thursday, February 23 2023, Minister for Communications, The Hon Michelle Rowland MP officially opened the brand new Vecta Labs Offices. It was our privilege to host the Minister and her team, as well as to welcome our friends from TPG Telecom including CEO Iñaki Berroeta, CTO, Giovanni Chiarelli, Executive General Manager Mobile & Fixed Networks, Barry Kezik, General Manager, Wireless Access Networks, David Yeo, Head of Site Engineering and Standards, Trevor Hodgetts and General Manager External Affairs, James Rickards to the Vecta Labs offices for the grand opening.
Further, Minister Rowland, her team and the TPG team joined the Vecta Labs senior team, including Danny Schwotzer, John Bonello, Greg Delforce, Michael Symes and Darren Webster for a guided tour of the Vecta Labs facilities.
The Minister then took time to meet the entire Vecta Labs staff, engaging with them and discussing the future of the telecommunications industry in Australia.
Speaking to the Ministerial visit, Vecta Labs Director and Founding Member, John Bonello said: “Hosting Minister Rowlands was a pleasure. She was extremely knowledgeable about the industry and technology required to continue improving and driving telecommunications into the future.
“We would welcome her and her team back to Vecta Labs at any time, and feel extremely grateful to Minister Rowlands and her team for making the time to visit with us.
“We look forward to building our relationship with the Minister into the future – we also have to express our great thanks to her for officially opening our brand new office facilities,” John said.
Additionally, John expressed his thanks to the senior TPG and Vodafone team members who joined us for the opening and tour of the updated facilities.
“We want to thank Iñaki, Giovanni, Trevor, David, Barry, James and the whole team from TPG / Vodafone for their continued support. It’s always a pleasure to celebrate the work we do together, and to have them at a milestone event like this one is something we count as privilege – thank you,” John said.
